The audiobook of Nelson Mandela’s Favourite African Folktales – originally published as Madiba Magic by Tafelberg – has been nominated for a Grammy Award, the top honour from the US Recording Academy.

The recording is published by Hachette and features the voices of stars such as Matt Damon, Whoopi Goldberg, Charlize Theron, Samuel L Jackson, Scarlett Johannson, Helen Mirren, Forest Whitaker and, of course, Nelson Mandela himself.

Nelson Mandela’s Favourite African Folktales appears on the Grammy Awards’ “Best Spoken Word Album For Children” shortlist, alongside five other titles. Grammy winners will be announced live on national television in the United States on Saturday 31 January 2010.
